I am sure you have heard abs are made in the kitchen. Well it’s totally true! Here are a couple of exercises that can help them make an appearance while working your whole body.
- The Dumbell Squat is one of my favorites because my whole body can benefit, not to mention it’s very challenging for my balancing ability. To do this exercise: stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides holding a pair of dumbbells. Push your hips back, bend your knees and lower your body as deep as you can into a squat. Place the dumbbells on the floor, then kick your legs backward into a push up position. Kick your legs back to the squat position. Stand up and jump to complete one rep.
- The Barbell Hip Raise is great way to help build that booty. Sit on the floor with your upper back against a stable bench, your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Put a padded barbell across your hips and grab the barbells with an overhand grip, about shoulder-width apart. Keeping your back against the bench and the barbell just below your pelvis, raise your hips while squeezing your glutes until your hips are in line with your body.
- Cross-Behind Lunges are perfect for killing the hamstring & glutes. Grab a pair of dumbbells and hold them at arms length a your sides with your palms facing each other. Step forward and to the side so that your lead foot ends up in front of your back foot. You knee should be bent at least 90 degrees. Pause, then return to the starting position and repeat with your other leg.
